Ralph A. Campbell

Ralph A. Campbell, age 72, of Auburn passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

He was born on September 30, 1945 in Wayne, Michigan to Arthur and Doris (Flick) Campbell. 

Mr. Campbell honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

He married Mary Renner on July 10, 1999 and she resides in Auburn.

Ralph worked as a construction inspector in Northeast Indiana for several years.  He also worked for the US Census Bureau and before coming to Indiana he worked as an Optician in Michigan.  He was very big into genealogy and he also did extensive cemetery mapping.  He was an avid nature photographer and enjoyed spending time in nature at one of the many Acres Land Trust preserves in the area.  In his free time he enjoyed giving tours at the WWII History Museum, volunteering and taking pictures at the Eckhart Public Library and he and Mary helped to put out the Acres Land Trust quarterly newsletter.  Ralph was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kendallville branch.

Survivors Include:

His wife; Mary Campbell of Auburn.

Son; Brian Campbell of Portage, Michigan.

Son and daughter-in-law; Glen and Nadga Campbell of Vicksburg, Michigan.

Son; Patrick Campbell and his partner, Szymon of Phoenix, Arizona.

Daughter; Heather Campbell of Kentucky.

Four grandchildren; Tyler Wood, Taylor Wood, Michael Campbell and Kyle Campbell.

A few great grandchildren.

Sister; Patricia Lowery of Omaha, Nebraska.

Sister; Barbara King of Westland, Michigan.

Sister; Marjorie Greene of Dearborn, Michigan.

Sister; Sanie Campbell of Dearborn, Michigan.

Sister-in-law; Christine Campbell of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; James Campbell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.

Officiating the funeral service will be President Lunceford of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kendallville branch.

Burial will take place at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed towards the Acres Land Trust, 1802 Chapman Road, Huntertown, Indiana 46784.
