Ralph B. Maggert
January 24, 1942 ~ May 7, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years OldGARRETT — Ralph B. Maggert, 75, of Garrett passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.
He was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Garrett to the late Forrest B. and Frances R. (Reed) Maggert and was baptized in the Church of Christ in Garrett. Ralph was a 1963 graduate of Garrett High School.
Mr. Maggert worked as part of the section gang for the B & O Railroad for six years, for the street department for the City of Garrett for eight years, and later retiring in 2009 from Electric Motors in Garrett, where he worked in the maintenance department for 25 years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Garrett.
Surviving are two brothers, Clayton W. Maggert of Garrett, and Richard J. “Sam” (Margie) Maggert of Garrett; five sisters, Mary K. (Royce) Higgins of Garrett, Eleanor M. “Doodie” Perucca of Garrett, Juanita M. Kline of Garrett, Carolyn S. Creager of Garrett, and Wava L. (Bruce) Woolard of North Pole, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Melvin “Jake” Maggert; Clifford “Hoggie” Maggert, and William “Bill” Maggert.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating. Burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery in rural Garrett.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Garrett to be used for the Garrett Boys and Girls Little League Programs or a charity of the donor’s choice.
