Rita K. Boyer, age 71, of Garrett passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

Mrs. Boyer was born on June 14, 1946 in Fort Wayne to Virgil and Eva (Remaly) Beck. 

She married James Boyer on May 8, 1976 in Garrett.  He resides in Garrett. 

Mrs. Boyer worked at both Hubbard Spool Company in Garrett and Magnavox in Garrett for several years retiring in 2005.

Rita, along with her husband, was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and she was an avid euchre player.

Survivors include: 

Her husband; James Boyer of Garrett.

Daughter; Michelle Boyer Lightfoot of Washington, Missouri.

Daughter and her late husband; Rhonda and Arthur Miller of Garrett.

Son and daughter-in-law; Aaron and Barbara Boyer of Sturgis, Michigan.

Daughter; Christina Boyer of Sarasota, Florida.

Son and daughter-in-law; Tyson and Lisa Boyer of Garrett.

12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Several nieces and nephews.

Sister; Betty Sells of Auburn.

Brother; David Beck of Buckeye, Arizona.

Best friend; Linda Brock of Collinsville, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Nancy Long, brother; Richard Beck, 3 half-sisters; Olive Brinkman, Opal Powers and Omal Favory and 2 half-brothers; Omar Beck and Walter Beck.

A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home.

Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Tom Wilcoxson with The Church at Garrett.
