Roger W. Terry

Roger W. Terry, 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne with his family by his side.

He was born June 30, 1950, in Auburn to the late Maurice and Irene (Farrington) Terry. Roger was a 1968 graduate of Garrett High School.

Roger married Sandra Beuchel on July 12, 1969, in Auburn, and she survives in Garrett.

Roger worked for the Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne, retiring after 30 years of service. After his retirement he built and constructed Terry View Estates, a subdivision in Garrett.

He was a member and served as a deacon of the First Church of Christ in Garrett. He also was a member of the Antique Tractor Club of DeKalb and Noble Counties, was a member of the Building Commission of the City of Garrett and was an honorary member of the American Legion Post 178 of Garrett.

Roger enjoyed fishing, IU basketball, John Deere tractors and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Also surviving are two children, Brent M. (Christen) Terry of Garrett, and Cindy Terry of Auburn; four grandchildren, Cameron Terry, Maddison Terry, Evan Lung and Chandler Lung; three sisters, Janet Peters of Auburn, Sandy Aldrich of Fort Wayne, and Joan Ice of Fort Wayne; brother-in-law, Wayne Peters of Auburn; sister-in-law, Joanne (Joe) Creager of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Randy William Terry and Matthew Paul Terry; grandson, Isaac Lung; sister, Sherrill Peters; and two brothers-in-law, Norman Peters and Phil Aldrich.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at First Church of Christ, 213 E. King St., Garrett, with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery in rural Garrett.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
