Fort Wayne – Samuel Page “Sam” Hood, 87 of Fort Wayne died Monday November 20, 2017 at Parkview Randalia Hospice in Fort Wayne. He was born July 15, 1930 in Fort Wayne to Page M and Harriet (Spindler) Hood and they have both passed away. Sam was a 1948 graduate of New Haven High School and attended Purdue University. He was a lifelong Farmer and served in the National Guard. He was also a former DeKalb Hospital Board member. He married Janis Hayes on June 12, 1955 in Ligonier and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons and a daughter, Steven (Lynn) Hood of Lakeland, FL, Sandy (Dick) Altman of Hicksville, OH and Stuart (Abbie) Hood of Garrett. There are 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday Nov. 22, 2017 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with Pastor Stephen Buckner officiating. Burial will follow the services in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan, IN. Calling is 1 hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 Wednesday at the funeral home.
