WATERLOO — Tricia Lewis Halferty, age 54, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
Born August 16, 1963, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Mrs. Halferty was the daughter of B. Neil and Patti Ann Redman Lewis, of Kennett, Missouri.
She was a 1981 graduate of Kennett High School and received her bachelor’s from Southeast Missouri State University in 1985.
She began her career at WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois, as a news photographer where she met her husband, Reverend Michael Halferty, and were married in 1987 in Kennett, Missouri. She spent a large portion of her career working in marketing and communications for Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where she received her MBA in 2010. Most recently, she worked for Ruoff Home Mortgage in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a marketing specialist.
In her free time, Tricia enjoyed crafting, babysitting her precious granddaughter, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include her father; her loving husband of 30 years; daughter Ann Halferty; son Andrew Halferty, his wife, Brittany, and their daughter, Adelaide; step-daughter Kelley Knickmeyer, her husband, Tony, and their children, Christopher and Megan; her sisters, Terri Kiplinger, Tracy McGinnis, her husband, James; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 2006.
A celebration of Tricia’s life will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 1–2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Karen Koelsch and Rev. William Kaster will be officiating.
Visitation also will be from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the family in care of Michael Halferty to help with medical expenses.
