AUBURN — Wilma Mae Walters, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at her home in Auburn.
She was born February 5, 1936, in Hamilton to the late William L. and Dona (Radabaugh) Shultz.
She was a graduate of Butler High School and graduated in 1957 from Ball State Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
She married Donald E. Walters on July 20, 1957, in Leo, and he died May 15, 2015.
Mrs. Walters was a second-grade teacher and after starting a family began babysitting for several years.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are five children, Anita (William Elliott) Walters Elliott of Phoenix, Az., Ron (Loretta) Walters of Waterloo, Brian (Christine) Walters of Garrett, Dawn (Ron) Scheurich of Spencerville, and Mary Beth Walters of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Jeanette) Shultz of Scottsdale, Az.; four nieces and nephews; and eight great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great grandson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with calling from 9–11 a.m. prior to the service.
Spencer W. Elliott will be officiating.
A celebration of Wilma’s life will take place immediately following the service Saturday from 12 - 2 p.m. at Roger’s Harvest House, 814 S. Wayne St., Hamilton.
A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday after the luncheon at Eddy Cemetery in rural Hamilton.
Memorials may be directed to the Community Foundation of DeKalb County to help with the restoration of the Eckhart Public Library.
