Abby S. (Kennedy) Knott

Abby Sue Knott peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate and gentle care of Luminary Hospice in the comfort of her home.

Abby was born on July 23, 1960, to Edward and Patricia Kennedy in Garrett, Indiana.

She married David Knott on October 3, 1981. They shared a wonderful and adventurous life together. They enjoyed traveling on their Goldwing motorcycle in earlier years, off-roading with the “42 Off Road Club” in their Jeep and RZR, camping with friends and family trips out west in their RV. Dave preceded her in death on May 3, 2022. 

Abby possessed an amazing gift for finding beauty where others might simply walk by. Antique stores, thrift shops and flea markets were among her favorite places and she rarely left without finding a hidden treasure. Every piece she collected found its perfect place in the home she lovingly created. She delighted in arranging flowers with every season and decorating every corner with intention, surrounding herself with the memories that made a house into a cozy home. She adored her adopted cats, Pete and Rosie. She lovingly referred to them as her “kids”. They were both snuggled up with her as God called her Home.

While our hearts will grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We find comfort in knowing that Abby has been made whole, reunited with Dave, her parents and those who have gone before her. She has entered into the eternal home of our Savior, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23). A very special thank you to Luminary Hospice for the heartfelt involvement and amazing care, love and dignity they provided to Abby and our family.

Abby is survived by her stepson, Christopher Knott; step-granddaughters, Emerson (Dylan) Romine, Samantha Knott, Alexa Knott, and Kerrigan Knott; sister, Marisa Kennedy; niece, Heather (Aaron) Housel; great-niece, Kenzie (Kit) Phillips; great-nephews, Alex Muzzillo and Cooper Davis; five great-great-nephews, Maverick, Hunter, Kashton, Krue, and Kyren; and one great-great-niece, Nova.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Karen (Mike) Muzzillo, Deborah (Jack) McIlvaine, and Kimberly (Ike) Eickelschute; special cousins and friends, Eric and Sue Simanton, Sheryl Baker, Doug and Tammy Spidel, David and Lori Barron, and Sean Cron; along with many dear cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Abby was preceded in death by her husband, David Knott; her parents, Edward and Patricia Kennedy, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Caroline Knott; and grandparents, Don and Velma Kennedy and Fred and Gertrude Smith.

There will be a celebration of Abby’s life at a later date.
