Alice "Bernice" (Dennis) Cunningham

Alice “Bernice” Cunningham, 77, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Angola.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1947, in Rockford, Tennessee, to Hubert L. and Rita J. (Lindsey) Dennis.

Bernice was a 1965 graduate of Granville Wells High School. She received an associate degree in Business Management from Indiana Central Business College.

She married Harvey A. Cunningham on June 25, 1966, in Milledgeville, and he survives.

Bernice worked for Eli Lilly and Company as a secretary for six years, and then managed the Welcome Home store in the Fremont Outlet Center for 20 years, retiring in 1996.

She was a member of Lake Missionary Church in rural Angola and took pride in serving on the Benevolence Ministry through the church.

Bernice loved her family, bowling and all kinds of plants. She also enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s events.

Also surviving are three children and their spouses, Harvey M. and Shelly Cunningham, of South Bend, Steven L. and Lori Cunningham, of Hudson and Mark G. and Kysa Cunningham, of Avilla; four grandchildren, Michael A. Cunningham, Logan Cunningham, Makayla Cunningham and Cassandra Cunningham; and seven siblings, Darlene and Raymond Carter, of Millington, Tennessee, Louise Brock, of Mooresville, the Rev. Timothy L. and Kimberly Dennis, of White Mills, Kentucky, David C. and LuAnne Dennis, of Fremont, Douglas and Diana Dennis, of Lizton, Bobby and Nancy Dennis, of Putnamville and Alan Norris, of Crawfordsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jacob Cunningham; brother, Donald Dennis; and a sister, Evelyn Hatcher.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., on Saturday, prior to the service.

Pastor Mike Cain will be officiating.

Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn at a later date.

Visitation also will be from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
