Ana Luisa Boman, 61, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on July 13, 1963, in Mexico City, Mexico.
Ana earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Indiana University, English as a second language from Indiana University, Master in English Linguistics from Indiana University and a Masters in Spanish Literature and Culture from Universidad de Salamanca. She was currently pursuing a Doctorate in Spanish linguistics with a focus on the impact of technology in Spanish language learning.

She worked for DeKalb Central School District as a Coordinator for Spanish speaking students. Ana was a lecturer in the humanities and communication department. One of Ana’s favorite hobbies was traveling around the world with her husband. They have visited more than 100 countries. She thought learning another language, particularly the Spanish language, was important because it provides exposure to different cultures and broadens awareness of others both culturally and academically.
