Angeline M. “Angie” Newcomer, 88, of Butler, passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Roselle, Iowa. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree in Rochester, Minnesota.
Angie married Glen Newcomer on Sept. 21, 1957, in Hayfield, Minnesota, and he passed away April 29, 2023.
Angie worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, as a registered nurse.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Suzanne Newcomer of League City, Texas; daughter-in-law and her husband, Catherine and Doug Bierlein of Butler; six grandchildren, Britney Newcomer, Zac (Allie) Newcomer, Drew Newcomer, Ally (Hunter) Lane, Libby Laker and Emma Laker; two great-grandchildren, Kiya Reece and Luca Wirick; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Vern Hugeback of Rochester, Minnesota, and Jerry and Dawn Hugeback of Hayfield, Minnesota; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Hugeback; mother and step-father, Marie (Vicarus) and Harold Toemmes; and a son, Greg Newcomer.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place 1 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh St., Auburn, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
Father Drew Curry will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Butler Cemetery.
Visitation will also be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
