Barbara E. Ridenour, 86, of Butler, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.
She was born on July 12, 1938, in Salem Center, Indiana, to Mathias and Ethel (Beard) Werner.
Barb was a 1956 graduate of Waterloo High School.
She married Verne E. Ridenour Sr., on Nov. 7, 1959, in Auburn.
Barb was a cook at Circle Park in Hamilton and for the Four Crowns in Auburn. She was a press operator and utility worker for Eagle Picher/Meridian in Grabill, where she retired after several years of service to the company.
She was a member of Ladies of the Moose in Auburn.
She loved her pets. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Sudoku, reading, spending summers with her husband at Fish Lake in Fremont, and spending time surrounded by her family.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Verne E. Ridenour Sr., of Butler; four children, Jack E. Ridenour and his wife, Toni, of Fort Wayne, Verne E. Ridenour Jr., and his wife, Louisa, of Butler, Deborah J. Ridenour, of St. Joe, and Dale E. Ridenour, of Butler; grandson, Elijah (Nicole) Ridenour; three step-grandchildren, Paige (Josh) Gorney, Todd Garver and Kayla Garver; two great-grandchildren, Jax Ridenour and Braydon Ridenour; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Shaw, Mary Ellen Shaw and Ruth Shipe; and two brothers, Roy Werner and Paul Werner.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Andy Grimes officiating.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Newville.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.
