Bart Stoner Obituary

Bart M. Stoner passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bart was born on May 7, 1959 in Harrisburg, PA to David and Rose Marie (Derick) Stoner. He grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA cooking in the kitchen with his mother Rose and sister Ava. Bart also enjoyed camping and riding the motorcycle with his father David Sr., playing baseball with his brother David Jr., and digging outside in the dirt with his younger brother Michael.

He graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1978, then moved to Indiana where he attended Bethel College in Mishawaka. His sophomore year of college he met Kelly Munn and they married in 1986.

Bart loved all things computers, from building them to writing programs. After graduating from college with a degree in computer science, Bart worked at Crown International, The Harter Group and then L3 Harris where he was a senior systems analyst. He retired from L3Harris after 23 years.

Bart and Kelly (Munn) Stoner have three children, Emily, Katelynn and Zachary Stoner. Bart loved his wife and children. He and Kelly liked to spend time together gardening, canning, playing games, watching old movies and visiting with family and friends. Bart and Emily shared a love for music and enjoyed watching football games together on TV. Katelynn and her dad loved to spend time in the kitchen and do wood crafts together. Bart enjoyed coaching Zachary’s little league baseball teams and watching him play football.

Bart is survived by his Wife of 38 years, Kelly Stoner (Munn); his children Emily, Katelynn and Zachary Stoner; mother, Rose Marie (Derick) Stoner; sister, Ava May (Jeffrey); brother, Michael Stoner (Stacy); sister-in-law, Diana Stoner; 9 nieces, 1 nephew and many great nieces and nephews.

Bart is preceded in death by his father, David Stoner Sr. and brother, David Stoner Jr.

Bart accepted Christ in 1976 at the age of sixteen. He was active in church most of his life and was a current member of Auburn Church of the Nazarene. Bart did many things at church, but one of his favorites was helping on the audio-visual team. He loved to serve the Lord and is now rejoicing in heaven!
