Carey E Crago

Butler – Carey E Crago, 91, died Tuesday November 14, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on March 21, 1932 to John Thomas Marion and Grace Elizabeth (Fausz) Crago.

Carey was a U.S. Navy Veteran and worked for over 30 years at Slater Steel in Fort Wayne before retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and a former member of the Butler American Legion Post 202.

He married Katheryn Cook on September 7, 1956 in the Salem Church in Fort Wayne and she survives in Butler.

He is also survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons and son in laws and a daughter in law, Mari and Thomas Scott of LaOtto, Dawn and Jeff Spencer of Butler, Carey Crago of Marion and Thomas and Montana Crago of Spencerville; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister in law, Diana Kuehner of Woodburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Deanna Marie Marcum, Cathie Crago-Eberhart, son William Crago, 3 brothers, a sister and a brother in law.

Services will be 11 AM Friday November 17, 2023 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706. Burial will follow the service in Union Cemetery, Roanoke. Calling is Thursday from 2 to 7 at the funeral home.

Memorials can be given in memory of Carey to one of his favorite organizations, Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2211 North Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60707.
