Auburn – Carl D Kummer, 85, passed away Thursday January 16, 2025 At his home in Auburn.
He was born August 22, 1939 in Fort Wayne to Clarence and Margarite (Miller) Kummer.
After attending college for a little while, Carl was called to Marvin, South Dakota where he served for several years as a Brother, Brother Anthony, at Blue Cloud Abby. He enjoyed working with the native American tribes in South Dakota but after a number of years felt it was time to come back to Indiana. He left the Abby but his faith in the Lord never diminished or faded. He returned to Fort Wayne and worked until his retirement at International Harvester. In retirement he enjoyed the time he spent in Zepher Hills, Florida before returning back to this area a few years ago.
He is survived by a brother, Richard Kummer of Waterloo, 14 nieces and nephews and their families.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Ruth Burris, Sarah Scott and Phyllis Conner, and a brother, Edward Kummer.
Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN. Calling will be 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
