WATERLOO — Carol Dale Musser, 64, of Waterloo died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after a short illness surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Auburn, to the late Rupert Dale and Vellamae (Webb) Harris.

Carol was a 1965 graduate of Auburn High School.

Mrs. Musser worked as a receptionist for Cooper Standard Automotive in Auburn, retiring in 2006.

She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Waterloo. She was also a charter member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Auburn, the Rolling Pin Home Extension Club in Waterloo, volunteered at the Indian Village Food Bank in Auburn, and was very active with IOPO (Indiana Organ Procurement Organization).

Carol loved her friends and family, but her true passion was her grandchildren.

She married Timothy Z. Musser on Dec. 30, 1972, in Auburn. He survives in Waterloo.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Emily Prosser of Auburn, and Sarah and Michael Payne of Auburn; five grandchildren, Haley Prosser, Reece Prosser, Brady Prosser, Charlie Payne, and Tucker Payne; a brother and sister-in-law, Harve and Marilee Harris of Auburn; three brothers-in-law, James B. Mason of Auburn, Gayle Musser, and his wife Jenny, of Evans, Georgia, and David A. Musser of Hudson; and three sisters-in-law, Leah Musser of Arlington, Texas, Nancy Tompkins of Ft. Wayne; and Susan Harden, and her husband Colel, of Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, M. Mellody Mason.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1098 C.R. 39, Waterloo, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to mass at the church. Father David Carkenord will be officiating. Burial will take place in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Auburn.

Calling will also be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a Psi Iota Xi memorial service taking place at 8 p.m. and the reciting of the rosary service immediately following, at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn.

Memorials may be directed to IOPO (Indiana Organ Procurement organization) or the Indian Village Food Bank in Auburn.
