Carole J. McConnell, 68, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025.
She was born on December 5, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Leo J. and Ruth E. (Sanders) Jehl.
Carole owned and operated Jehl Apartments LLC Management for 32 years, retiring in 2021.
She married Fred McConnell on March 5, 1977, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and he survives in Auburn.
She was a member of the Apartment Association of Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana.
She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, the time spent at the lake in the summer, and most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two children and their spouses, Beth A. and Ronald Wyatt of Auburn, and Jayson W. and Jessica McConnell of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Margaret Wyatt, Elsie Wyatt and Lily Wyatt; and a brother and his spouse, Christopher J. and Rebecca Jehl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Leo (Jack) Jehl, Timothy J. Jehl and Suzanne Johnson.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh St., Auburn, with visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Father Drew Curry will be conducting the service.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Memorial donations may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
