Carolyn Sue (Withrow) Michael

One of the sweetest ladies to ever walk this earth, Carolyn Sue Michael, peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025 at the age of 90, into an inheritance kept in heaven for her.

She was born on April 30th, 1934 in Garrett, Indiana to Norval and Georgia Withrow. “Sue”, as she was known, was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved serving her church and family. Though we will mourn her life daily, we know we will be reunited in Heaven.Watching Wheel of Fortune, receiving a $2 dollar bill, and telling a witty joke will always remind us of our beloved Carolyn Sue Michael.

In December of 1951 she married the love of her life, Wayne Michael, one week before he shipped out for the front lines in Korea. They built a beautiful marriage that lasted over 73 years. Together they raised five children - Alan, Randy, Cindy, Mark and Tom. When she was just 29, Wayne and Sue moved their young family and began preparation for ministry that would last their whole lives. She was always a giver. Whether it meant getting a job when the church couldn’t support her family or serving alongside Wayne in the office or the kitchen. She loved people and was always present to serve and help anyone. Sue leaves behind, not just a grieving family, but a community forever touched by her kindness, humor and service. Her love for her family was unmatched, and her kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Sue is survived by her children, Alan (Katrina), Randy (Freida), Cindy, and Tom (Connie), and many family members who she loved very much. Her legacy also lives on through her 15 grand-children and 19 great-grand-children.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne; her brother, Norval; her son, Mark (Susan) and her favorite son-in-law, Bruce Schlosser (Cindy).

Services will be 3 PM Sunday March 2, 2025 at the Auburn Church of Christ, 208 West 18th Street, Auburn, IN 46706 with Pastor Andy Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 1 to 3 PM Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Alton Cemetery in St. Joe, IN on Monday, March 3 2025. Memorials can be given in memory of Sue to the Auburn Church of Christ. Feller and Clark Funeral Home of Auburn is assisting the family with arrangements.
