Carroll Jean Stafford, 81, of Ashley, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.
She was born June 17, 1943, in Auburn, Indiana to Buford Dale and Susana (Conley) Armstrong.
Carroll married Donald Wayne Stafford Sr. on February 19, 1960, in Auburn, and he passed away July 9, 2015.
She worked for Bostwick Braun in Ashley as a receiving clerk for five years, retiring in 1995. She also was a truck driver alongside her husband, Don, for several years.
Carroll enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her special companions, Luna and Gracee.
She also enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs baseball and keeping the hummingbirds and birds fed outside.
Surviving are a son, Donald Wayne Stafford Jr. of Waterloo; daughter, Tonya Jean (Jeff) Turner of Michigan; son-in-law, Mike Hasselman of Ashley; sister, Diana Armstrong of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Jaymee (Jason) Deetz, Justin (Kristie) Deetz, Natalya (Randy Harris) Clark, Keaton Turner and Donoven Stafford; five great grandchildren, Rialynn Hakey, Kamden Deetz, Karli Deetz, Haleigh Collett, Brixxton Harris, and; two sister-in-laws, Cathy Armstrong of Auburn and Connie Armstrong of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Terrie Lea Hasselman; two infant sons, Daniel Wayne Stafford and David Wayne Stafford; three brothers, Bill Armstrong, Dale Armstrong and Mark Armstrong; sister, Barbara Park; and her God mother, Evelynn Stanley.
A celebration of Carroll’s life will take place from 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Souls Harbor Assembly of God, 3810 C.R. 40A, Auburn, with Pastor Mark Snodderly officiating.
Visitation will take place following the service until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with expenses.
