Chad A Deetz

Angola – Chad A Deetz, 51 passed away Monday October 6, 2025 at his home with his family at his side.

He was born March 2, 1974 in Angola to Allan W and Joann L (Szeman) Deetz. His father has passed away and his mother survives in Waterloo.

Chad was a very hard worker. He worked at TI Automotive in Ashley for 29 years.

His hobbies were deer hunting and fishing. He enjoyed being with family and taking family trips, going to races in the spring and summer and football in the fall and he was a huge Colts fan. He was such a good Dad and provider. He knew how to take care of everything and make it better.

Chad married Amber Skees on October 29, 2022 in Fremont and she survives.

He is also survived by his mother, Joann Deetz of Waterloo; daughter, Aiyanna Skees (Jagger Hurraw); in-laws, David Skees of Angola and Debra Meek of Springfield, MO; grandmothers Thelma Szeman of Waterloo and June Dickson of Auburn; best friend, Brad Springer and his cats that he dearly loved, Cali and Agatha (Aggie).

Chad was preceded in death by his father, Allan W Deetz, grandfathers, Louis Szeman and DeWan Deetz, great grandparents, John Szeman, Albert and Mabel McKean, a cousin and another of his best friends, Brandon Szeman.

A graveside service will be 3 PM Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Fairfield Cemetery, 1300 County Road 13, Corunna, IN 46730. Memorials can be given in memory of Chad to the Steuben County Humane Shelter or Northeast Indiana Cancer Services.
