Charles R. Bush

Charles R. Bush, age 91 of Grabill, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

He was born on July 24, 1933 in Ashland, Kentucky to Charles and Beulah (Stambaugh) Bush. 

Charles married Phyllis A. Huffman on August 27, 1960 in Ashland, Kentucky.  She preceded him in death on March 28, 2021. 

He worked for Universal Tool and Stamping in Butler as a supervisor for 32 years.  He also worked for Grabill Woodworking Specialties and Jim Schmidt car dealerships in Hicksville, Ohio, retiring in 2022.  He was a member of the Church of Christ at Grabill.  Charles enjoyed Joanna’s Family Restaurant on DuPont Road almost every day to eat.  He also enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh, including taking people “snipe hunting”.  Charles was also an avid University of Kentucky fan.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandkids.    

Survivors include:

Son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Joyce Bush of Butler.

Daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Gordon King of South Carolina.

Daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Steve Jones of Grabill.

Six grandchildren, Charles, April, Danny, Dusty, Phillip and Emily.

Four great grandchildren, Jonathan, Mikayla, Jakob and Aubrey.

Brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Connie Bush of St. Joe, Indiana.

His companion, Eloise Gillem and his bonus children, Annette (Ken), David (Stacy) and Donald (Faith).

His bonus granddaughter, Sara Marie Rothgeb.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Bush; daughter, Jeanetta Scarberry; son, Daniel Bush and three brothers, Harold Bush, Robert Bush and Donald Bush.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM following the visitation at the funeral home with Evangelist Harvey Hacker officiating.

Burial will take place at the Butler Cemetery, Butler, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Charles to the Church of Christ at Grabill, 13313 Indiana Street, Grabill, Indiana 46741.
