Auburn– Charlotte L Beatty, 90, of Auburn made her journey Home to be with her Lord on October 25th. She was in Port Townsend, Washington where she had recently moved to live with her son Christopher and his husband Tyrone.
She was born May 27, 1934 in Lima, Ohio to H. Stanley and Leota (Dowland) Liddell.
Charlotte married Richard “Dick” Beatty on February 26, 1977 in Auburn and he passed away March 28, 2011.
Charlotte owned and operated the Ivy Garden in Auburn, she loved her clients and was very proud to create lovely nails. She was the first woman to own and operate an Insurance Business in Auburn, C.L. Beatty Insurance.
She and Richard were founding members of St. Andrew Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Auburn. She was also a member of the Auburn Classic Lions Club and Auburn Improvement Association. Charlotte was compassionate to those in need and took the opportunity often to reach out with support to others. She enjoyed all things beautiful which earned her the name “Glammy" with her great granddaughter, Nona. She loved The Lord Jesus and knew He would keep her in his care. Indeed, He did, with the assistance of her faithful friends, family and church community.
She is survived by 3 sons and a daughter; Daniel L Cooper of Dothan, Alabama, Michael C (June) Cooper of Fort Myers, Florida, Christopher (Tyrone) Beatty of Port Ludlow, Washington and Candace (Ralph) Imbody of Saint Petersburg, Florida. Step-children, David (Mary) Beatty of Indianapolis, Susan Beatty of Mariposa, California and 9 grandchildren; Danielle, Mick, Ashley, Jake, Elizabeth, Sarah, Stephen, Christine, and Ryan. 13 Great grandchildren. Her brother Dr. David (Sunny) Liddell of Auburn, Indiana, her sisters, Deborah Liddell of Raleigh, NC and Judith Farrington of Fort Myers, Florida. Her much loved Nieces and Nephews, her neighbors and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Richard: a brother H. Stanley Liddell Jr. and a Step-daughter Ann Panah.
Services will be at 12 noon on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Andrew Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 316 West 4th Street, Auburn, IN with Rev. Donovan Coley officiating. Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 10 to 12 Friday at the church. Memorial donations can be given in memory of Charlotte to St. Andrews Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Auburn or DeKalb Humane Society.
