Connie Sue Mahnesmith, 77, of Auburn, Indiana passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Indiana University Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born April 8, 1947, in Auburn, Indiana to Arman B. and Maxine M. (Bowman) Campbell.
Connie was a 1965 graduate of Auburn High School, graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and then graduated from Indiana University Fort Wayne with a Master’s degree.
Connie married Joseph A. Mahnesmith on July 11, 1979, in Hawaii, and he passed away June 28, 2017.
She was a kindergarten teacher for Garrett Keyser Butler Schools for 33 years, retiring in 2003.
Connie was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and playing bridge.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Jessi Mahnesmith of Jeffersonville; grandson, Maddox; two sisters, Judi (Arthur Moorman) Crozier of Auburn, and Linda VanAuken of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister-in-law, Ann Mahnesmith of Angola; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother-in-law, Edward Mahnesmith.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment will take place at Cedar Creek Cemetery in rural Garrett.
The family will also receive friends from 3 – 7 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at the funeral home.
