Cynthia Kay (Gushwa) Lake

Cynthia Kay Lake, age 77 of Wolcottville, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at her Big Long Lake home.

She was born on December 21, 1947 in Auburn to James Franklin and Betty Jean (Stackhouse) Gushwa.  She was a 1965 graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne before going on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Indiana University.    

Cindy married Ronald Eugene Lake on July 15, 1967 in Fort Wayne and he resides in Wolcottville.     

Survivors include:

Her husband of almost 58 years, Ron Lake of Wolcottville.

Daughter, Michele Erin Lake of Indianapolis.

Son and daughter-in-law, Michael James and Stephanie Lake of Downers Grove, Illinois.

Son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Byron and Kathleen Lake of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Six grandchildren, Allison Elizabeth Atterberry and her husband, Sam of Omaha, Nebraska, Carolyn Michele Lake of Downers Grove, Illinois, Kevin Miles Lake of Chicago, Illinois, Bryan James Lake of Downers Grove, Illinois, Colleen Anne Lake of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ethan Michael Lake of Downers Grove, Illinois.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn with Pastor Steve Webster officiating.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
