Dan P. Witte, age 74 of Auburn, went to be with his precious Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at his Auburn home. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who trusted Jesus to guide his life.
Dan was born on September 3, 1950 in Fort Wayne to Paul and Lorene (Albertson) Witte.
He married Sandy Herbst on April 29, 1972 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. She resides in Auburn.
Dan honorably served his country for six years in the United States Army Reserves out of Fort Wayne.
He worked for FedEx Freight in Fremont for 35 years, retiring in July of 2023. Dan loved working in the outdoors and feeding birds at his feeder, especially blue birds and orioles.

His wife of 53 years, Sandy Witte of Auburn.
Son, Ryan P. Witte of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Patti Sterling of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Sister, Candi Garner of Jamestown, Kentucky.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and MonaRae Witte; his in-laws, Louie and JoAnn Herbst and sister-in-law, Tanya Sparks.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Burial will take place at a later date at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Dan to the DeKalb Humane Society, PO Box 806, Auburn, Indiana 46706.
