Darlene Kay (Wainscott) Imbody

Darlene Kay Imbody, 71 of Auburn, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at her Auburn home.

She was born on May 14, 1954 to Vernon and Norma (Watkins) Wainscott and she was a graduate of Auburn High School.   

Darlene married Ronald Allen Imbody, Sr. on May 2, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he resides in Auburn.

She was a very hard worker and took great pride in raising her family.  More recently, she and Ron enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years and she loved playing bingo and deep sea fishing.  Darlene was a member of the Auburn American Legion Post 97 Auxiliary. 

Survivors include:                    

Her husband, Ron Imbody of Auburn.

Daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Brad Davis of Auburn.

Son, William “Shane” Click of Auburn.

Stepson, Ronnie Imbody of Angola.

Stepdaughter, Melissa and Richard Knapp of Angola.

Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Doug Williams of Oregon.

Sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Rick Beatty of Montana.

Sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Peter Wiebe of Alabama.

Brother, Nick Wainscott of Auburn.

Her special friend, Deb Anderson of Butler.

Her beloved dog, Ronnie.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathleen Jarnagin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Auburn American Legion Post 97, 1729 Sprott Street in Auburn.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Darlene to the DeKalb Humane Society, PO Box 806, Auburn, Indiana 46706.
