Deborah J. “Debi” Welch-Mitchel, 66, of Huntertown, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, peacefully at her home.
Debi was born March 18, 1959, to the late John and Imogene (Sproat) Welch.
She owned and operated Dust Bunnies “BE GONE” for over 25 years.
Debi’s first love was her birds. She enjoyed horses and dog shows. She was always tending to some animal in need.
Debi’s hobbies included painting, gardening, cars, video games and spending time with her pets. She looked forward to helping Dr. Scott MacDonald with his bird clinic and volunteering at the ACD Museum in Auburn.
She leaves behind family and friends that loved her from various places all over the world, including her husband of 46 years, Ed Mitchel; daughter, Autumn (Mike) Dray; son, Camden Welch-Mitchel; four grandsons, Caeden, Dylan, Alexander and Seth and a lifelong friend and work mate, Bruce Braun.
Debi was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Pettigrew; best friend, Jan Koorsen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Leona Mitchel who embraced Debi as a daughter; and her furry companion, Sir Windsor.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Chaplain Virgil Barker officiating.
Burial will take place at Huntertown Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.
