Dennis J. Ferguson

Dennis J. Ferguson, age 66, of Auburn passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his Auburn home.

He was born on April 16, 1957 in Garrett to James and Lavina (Snider) Ferguson.  He graduated from Eastside High School in 1975.

Denny married Linda Jordan on March 1, 1980 in Corunna.  She resides in Auburn.

He had worked for the DeKalb County Highway Department for the last 42 years retiring in 2022.  Most recently, Denny had served as the head mechanic for the highway department.  He was an active member of the Hudson United Brethren Church and he was a former Cub Master with Boy Scout Troop 3169 in Auburn.  Denny was a huge Indy Car race fan and he also enjoyed going camping.  Most of all, Denny enjoyed spending time with his family.  He especially like to instigate and interact with his grandsons!

His wife of 43 years; Linda Ferguson of Auburn.

Daughter and son-in-law; Beth and Justin Kuhnle of Garrett.

Son and daughter-in-law; Brian and Rachel Ferguson of Auburn.

Four grandsons; Tristan Ferguson, Mason Ferguson, Lincoln Kuhnle and Griffin Kuhnle.

Sister; Holly Ferguson of Fort Wayne.

Father-in-law; Junior Jordan of Helmer.

Brother-in-law; Jim and Marie Jordan of Fort Wayne.

Brother-in-law; Rodney Jordan of Garrett.

Sister-in-law; Pat and Rodney Hutzell of Chantilly, Virginia.

Sister-in-law; Kathy and Tony Dunham of Fremont.

Sister-in-law; Pam and Ken Gordon of Kendallville.

Many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Lisa Ferguson, mother-in-law; Lois Jordan and sister-in-law; Ramonna Jordan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.  Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Hudson United Brethren Church, 516 North Main Street in Hudson with Pastor Craig Burkholder officiating.   

Burial will take place at Christian Union Cemetery at a later date.
