Garrett – Donald E Curtland, 81 of Garrett passed away Wednesday May 6, 2026 at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.
He was born in Waterloo on March 9, 1945. His father was Howard Rigg Curtland and his mother was Katheryn Lorraine (Wysong) Rowe and they have both passed away. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Marion Zeigler and a niece, Kim Costin.
Donnie loved collecting a number of things, miniature toy cars, coin purses, crosses, bibles and rings. When he was younger, he would go downtown Garrett to see if any of the businesses had anything they needed done or help with. They gave him small tasks and errands to do; he’d go to the bank or post office or anything they needed help with; he was happy to pitch in and help out. He was known as Skippy and they knew he was honest and would complete every task he was given.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sue Curtland of Hudson; sister, Sharon Zeigler of Garrett; nieces and nephews, Tawny Caban, Terry Curtland, Tony Curtland, Tracy Smallwood, Lorie Wiechart and Alan Zeigler; a number of great nieces and nephews including a special great, great niece, Alba Fulk.
No services are planned at this time. Feller and Clark Funeral Home of Auburn is assisting the family with arrangements.
