Echo “June” Kessler, 84, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart in Avilla, Indiana.
She was born on July 29, 1940, in Ashley, Indiana, to Harry and Velma (Grogg) Shipe.
June married Marion David Kessler in 1958, in Auburn, and he passed away in 1992.
June retired from Krafft Foods in Kendallville with more than 30 years of service to the business.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 566.
June enjoyed bowling in the Ladies Bowling League in Auburn and Butler. She also enjoyed watching Syfy movies, spending the different seasons in Florida, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Cindy Kessler, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Adam Murphy, Brian Kessler, Josh (Jalyssa) Kessler and Alisha (Ron) Chapman; eight great-grandchildren, Sophia Murphy, Daelynn Kessler, Zoie Murphy, Abigail Kessler, David Kessler, Jayen Chapman, Dasan Chapman and Rosslynn Chapman; brother, Merrit Shipe, of Indianapolis; sisters, Barb Horseman, of Bluffton and Gloria Amstutz, of Middletown, Ohio; brother-in-law, Richard Bailey, of DeLand, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Jan Shipe of Huntertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Leona Murphy; grandson, Alex Murphy; two brothers, Cleo (Ruthie) Shipe and Don Shipe; four sisters, Clytia (Tom) Connor, Crystal (Perry) Mahoney, Jenny Bailey and Berdenia (Art) Utrup; brother-in-law, Keith Amstutz; and a sister-in-law, Carol Shipe.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with expenses.
