Elza “Junior” Jordan, 94 of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at home.
He was born on July 24, 1929 in rural Auburn to Elza Cecil and Carrie Bell (Haynes) Jordan.
Junior married Lois Marie Boyd on June 4, 1950 and she passed away in February of 2004.
He was a carpenter and general contractor and he worked with his brothers at Jordan Construction for 24 years. In 1974, he and his son, Jim went into the construction business together for another 24 years. Junior also owned the Blue Moon custard stand in Garrett for several years starting in 1974.
Junior was a member of the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren until 1999. He then joined the Helmer United Methodist Church, which is now the Helmer Community Church. Junior was also a member of the Auburn Kiwanis Club for 17 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing cards and he loved bird watching. Junior also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida for many years.

Son; Rodney Jordan of Garrett.
Daughter; Linda Ferguson of Auburn.
Daughter and son-in-law; Patricia and Rodney Hutzell of Chantilly, Virginia.
Daughter and son-in-law; Kathleen and Tony Dunham of Leesburg, Florida.
Daughter and son-in-law; Pamela and Kenneth Gordon of Kendallville.
12 grandchildren and their spouses; Adam and Jodi Jordan, Rachel Jordan, Rayanne Jordan, Brian and Rachel Ferguson, Beth and Justin Kuhnle, Amy Leton, Stacey Householder (Greg French), Robert Householder, Travis and Natalie Gordon, Sarena Hutzell, Katrina Hutzell and Kordell and Emma Hutzell.
15 great grandchildren.
Many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Lois Jordan, daughter-in-law; Ramonna Jordan; son-in-law; Dennis Ferguson, five brothers; Robert Jordan, Donald Jordan, Dallas Jordan, Loyal Jordan and Franklin Jordan and one sister; Helen Workman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00 with Rev. Donna Holcomb officiating.
Burial will take place Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the DeKalb Humane Society and the Helmer Community Church.
