Eric Henderson Obituary

Eric John Lee Henderson, 34 of Waterloo, passed away tragically at his home on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Eric was born on August 2, 1991. He graduated from Garrett High School in 2010. After high school, Eric graduated from Wyotech Technical School in Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  He worked at Nucor Vulcraft since 2021. His latest position being a welder which was something he really enjoyed. He took pride in his job and was always eager to further his scope there.

He attended Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church, where he gave his life to Christ in 2022.

Eric enjoyed playing video games with his nephew Dre, hunting squirrels and rabbits with his father, brother and sons, riding his dirt bike, kayaking with his friends, watching UFC, and losing a game of pool to his pool shark of a wife. Eric was a longtime member of the Boy Scouts, working his way up to being an Eagle Scout. 

Eric’s children were his pride and joy. He loved being a father and made sure they never wanted for anything. He never missed a practice, soccer game, dance recital or cheer competition. He was their biggest fan and supported them endlessly.

He married Ashley Applegate on October 20, 2017. They were blessed with nearly 8 years, but had a lifetime of anniversaries planned.

Ashley survives with their three children, Holden, Harper, and Hollis, residing in Waterloo.

He is also survived by his father, John Henderson of Garrett; his mother, Lorie Henderson of Garrett; his mother-in-law, Sandy Applegate of Waterloo; brother, Johnathan (Cortney) Henderson of Garrett; Sister, Amanda Egly of Garrett; sisters-in-law, Heather Applegate of Waterloo and Megan (Craig) Daniels of Butler along with many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his father-in-law, Neil Applegate and paternal grandparents, Lorraine and Gerald Henderson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. 

Funeral services will take place following the visitation on Thursday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Stambaugh and Pastor Brett Boyd officiating. 

Memorials donations may be given to Ashley and her family to help with expenses.
