Eugene L “Duke” Williams, 94 passed away Monday, March 23, 2026.
He was born in Waterloo on September 21, 1931 to Merritt and Hilda (Crooks) Williams.
Eugene worked for 31 years at Dana Clutch Division in Auburn retiring in 1982. During that time he enjoyed bowling on the Dana Tuesday Night Bowling League.
He was a member of the Waterloo United Methodist Church which is now Waterloo First Grace Church.
Eugene lived his entire life in Waterloo area and was active in the community, serving as a volunteer on the Waterloo Fire Department, as a Sexton of the Waterloo Cemetery for 25 years and as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of Waterloo.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Patsy L. (Dancer) Williams, son Steve (Lillian) Williams of Corunna; daughters, Marcia (Gregg) Miller of Fort Wayne and Brenda (Bob) Knott of Waterloo; 7 grandchildren, Mike (Stephanie) Williams, Brad (Jamie) Williams, Christina (Greg) Bowers, Brian (Brandy) Knott, Leslie (Doug) Brumbaugh, Ami Miller, Ryan (Gabby) Miller; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and several, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chad Knott; great grandson, Mason Brumbaugh; sister & brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Ernie Sewelin, Emma and Forest Trenary; brothers and sisters-in-law, Merritt Leroy and Manola “Peg” Williams, Stanley and Jeanette Williams.
Services will be 11 AM Tuesday March 31, 2026 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 825 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN 46793 with burial to follow the service in Waterloo Cemetery. Calling is Monday from 3 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be given in memory of Eugene to Waterloo First Grace Church or DeKalb County Humane Shelter or Alzheimers Association.
