Eula May (Freeman) Kell, 94, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her home in Huntertown, Indiana.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Garrett, Indiana, to Jonah Lee and Ruth May (Wilcox) Freeman.
Eula was a 1949 graduate of Garrett High School. While in high school, Eula worked at the Dew Drop Inn in Garrett, where she was a waitress on skates.
After high school, She worked several years at Lincoln Life and worked in the accounting department.
She married Jacob Fredrick “Fred” Kell IV on Oct. 12, 1963, at First Church of Christ in Garrett, and he passed away on Oct. 4, 2014.
In 1976, she began working for Kell Well Drilling in Huntertown, where she was bookkeeper and secretary. She also served as the president of the company, retiring in 2022.
She was an active member of First Church of Christ in Garrett. She was a member of XYZ Group through the church.
Eula was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed being a room mother and involved with the PTO while her children were in school.
She enjoyed flowers, bird watching, gardening, canning, her beloved cats and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Lisa and Tim Pfefferkorn, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Lana and Mark Frey, of Waterloo, Eric and Christina Kell, of Huntertown and Nathan Kell, of Huntertown; six grandchildren, Matt Frey, Ryan Frey, Shannon (Kayla) Frey, Jacob Pfefferkorn and Savanna Pfefferkorn; 12 great-grandchildren, Halle, Braden, Keltin, Tristin, Alexis, Avi, Zaylee, Isaiah, Trapper, Azzppyn, Rutt and Kambree; and nieces and nephews, Lori Freeman, Vonda Freeman, Diane (Paul) Barnes, Alan (Diane) Lyons and Perry (Denise) Lyons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Doris (Bob) Cramer; brother, Robert “Bob” Freeman; and a nephew, Terry Freeman
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at First Church of Christ, 213 E. King St., Garrett, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
Brother Bud Owen will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Huntertown Cemetery.
Visitation also will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
