Eula N. Smith, 92, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016, at DeKalb Health in Auburn.
Eula was born May 24, 1924, in Butler to Otis and Mamie (White) Gall.
She married Robert D. Smith on Sept. 28, 1947, in Auburn, and he passed away Feb. 7, 2002.
Eula started her working career as a secretary at the Messenger Corp. in Auburn. After she and Bob started their family, she was able to stay home to raise their two daughters while also serving as the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Smiths TV and Radio in Auburn.
Eula loved gardening, canning, cooking, antiquing, collecting jewelry, crocheting, and enjoyed the company of her true friend and dog, Bentley.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry L. Smith of Auburn, and Nancy A. Tape-Alexander and her husband, Keith J. Alexander of Madison; a granddaughter and her husband, Ashley R. and Patrick R. Tape-Fleming of Des Moines, Iowa; a great-grandson, Nilsson A. Tape-Fleming; a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred I. and Rody A. Behlke of Defiance, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Gall of Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Donald E. Gall; sister and brother-in-law, Doris M. and Harold W. Hodges; and two nephews the Rev. Dr. Gary R. Hodges and Jamie L. Behlke.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Craig officiating.
Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
