Evelyn G. (Shaneyfelt) Austin

Evelyn G. Austin, 91, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was born on July 8, 1934, in Muncie, Indiana to Russell and Mildred (Homier) Shaneyfelt.

Evelyn was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Cedar Lake Church of Christ.

Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed working in her yard.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Sarah Foster of Auburn; two grandchildren, Rebekah M. and Glen Myers of Auburn, and John A. and Jamie Foster of Los Lunas, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Curtis Ryan Myers, Gabriel David Myers, Casey John Foster and Kaiden Mark Foster; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Monte Burnsworth of Ohio, and Josephine and Earl Clore of Indiana.

She was preceded by her parents; first husband, Clarence “Paul” Foster Jr., who passed away on July 20, 1974; second husband; Allen D. Austin, who passed away on July 1, 1998; daughter, Cherl Foster; sister, Maxine Garretson; and four brothers, William Shaneyfelt, Robert Shaneyfelt, Richard Shaneyfelt and Ronald Shaneyfelt.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 5035 N. Goshen Rd., Huntington, IN 46750. The service will take place in the cemetery chapel.

Mark Nielson will be officiating.
