Frankie I. Andrews, age 89 of Garrett, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her large family and friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.
She was born on August 2, 1935 in Miracle, Kentucky to Henry and Lula (Slusher) Murphy.
Frankie married Erle L. Andrews, Sr. on September 1, 1961 in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2011.
She was best known for her gardening, cooking and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies. You were never a stranger to Frankie, she welcomed you her home and made you feel special.
Frankie worked her early years at Azar Restaurant in Fort Wayne. She then worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville for over 20 years before retiring in 1995.
Survivors include:
Son and daughter-in-law, Erle Andrews II and Knoha Andrews of Kendallville.
Daughter, Debra Baker Hall of Madison, Indiana.
Daughter-in-law, Ellen Andrews of Garrett.
14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter on the way.
Sister, Maggie Smith of Powell, Tennessee.
Sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and James Cox of New Haven, Indiana.
Brother and sister-in-law, RB and Jackie Murphy of Pineville, Kentucky.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erle Andrews, Sr.; one son, Lane Andrews; two step daughters, Carolyn “Susie” Lemons and Diana Andrews; five brothers, Mach Murphy, Holbert Murphy, Floyd Murphy, Sr., Bill Murphy and Teddy Murphy and three sisters, Charity Hensley, Mary White and Birdie Whitlock.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Murphy officiating.
Burial will take place at the Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett.
Memorial donations may be made in Frankie’s memory to the donor’s choice.
