Gary Wayne Galligher, 70, passed away, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home in rural Waterloo.
He was born October 17, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Donald W. and Patricia J. (Cuney) Galligher.
Gary worked at Nucor in Waterloo for 23 years. He began working as a welder and later worked in the lab.
He had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors, especially riding his horses, and he enjoyed walks in the woods with his German shepherd, Willow, and deer hunting on his property.
Surviving are three siblings and their spouses, David Galligher of Auburn, Jeffrey and Tina Galligher of Auburn, and Cyndy and Kenney Middleton of Auburn; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Greg “Masher” White.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim Galligher, Donald W. Galligher Jr., and Daniel Galligher; and a niece, Jenny Galligher.
A celebration of Gary’s life will take place this coming summer.
