Gerald "Jerry" Schippers

Gerald “Jerry” Schippers, age 85 of Auburn, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Jerry was born on December 17, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Peter and Marge Schippers.  He was a graduate of Denver Christian School where he met Jan, his wife of 66 years. 

Jerry was very outgoing, he never knew a stranger and was always looking for a way to help someone else. 

He retired from Nucor Fastener in 2006, and he and Jan spent a lot of time together sightseeing and exploring new countryside.  He was involved in church activities and was a wonderful Bible teacher. 

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jan and his five children and their spouses, Teri and Jon Fellenz, Rick Schippers, Kurt and Carolyn Schippers, Todd Schippers and Chad Schippers.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn with Pastor Stu Kruse officiating.

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the County Line Church of God, 7716, County Line Road, Auburn, Indiana 46706.
