Waterloo – Harlis Damron, 84 died Tuesday September 24, 2024 at his home in Waterloo surrounded by his family.
He was born July 28, 1940 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Charlie and Lucinda (Newsome) Damron.
Harlis worked as a machine operator at Vistel in Angola before retiring in 2002.
He loved his cats and chickens.
Harlis married Elizabeth Hudson on April 10, 1963 in Pikeville, Kentucky and she passed away on June 5, 2012.
He is survived by a son and two daughters, Michael (Heather) Damron of Waterloo, Lori Ann (Mike Pinkerton) Damron of Butler and Lee Ann (Troy) Blanchard of Auburn; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother, Bernice (Clinton) Thacher of Sparta, TN, Mary Smartt of Sparta, TN and Moody (Irma) Damron of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Paul Damron, 2 great grandsons, 2 brothers, Farlynn Damron and John Henry Damron; 2 sisters, Flara Tackett and Lari Webb.
Services will be 2 PM Monday, September 30, 2024 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN. Calling is 2 hours prior to the service from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home Monday. Memorials can be given in memory of Harlis to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter.
