Ashley – Houston Dean Smith, 8 days old died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born February 20, 2021 in Fort Wayne to DaKoda Smith and Destiny Short of Ashley. Also surviving are a brother and sister, Ezekiel Short and Jocelynne Short both at home; grandparents, Barry and Kristy McKinley of St. Joe, Tom and Jennifer Moore of Emmalena, Kentucky and Arthur Smith of Howe; Aunts and Uncles, Mike Spies of Butler, Jodi Hess of Fort Wayne, Genelle Hall of Waterloo, Roman and Page Moore of St. Joe, MacKenzie Browning of Auburn, Justin and Ashleigh Moore of Waterloo, Shyan McKinley of St. Joe, Trayven McKinley of St. Joe and Erika and Ryan Brown of Emmalena, Kentucky and many cousins and extended family. A Memorial Service will be 5 PM Thursday March 4, 2021 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with Chris Hedges officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to the family c/o Destiny Short. Masks and social distancing will be required per the state mandate.
