Auburn – Ian David Halliday, 79, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025.
He was born November 9, 1945 in Dumfries, Scotland to James and Mary Adelaide “Addie” (Dawson) Halliday.
Ian’s family came to the United States in 1948 and settled in Park Ridge, IL in 1949. Ian moved to Fort Wayne in 1985 to work at Magnavox then transferred to the Auburn Facility in 1986 where he worked until his retirement in 2006.
He had a passion for trains and enjoyed HO model trains. He loved mowing his lawn and spending time making it look immaculate. He loved politics, traveling and taking cruises. He was a history buff and enjoyed gathering any information he could on any subject.
Ian married Marlene (Campbell) Glass on April 26, 1986 in the Auburn Presbyterian Church and she survives.
Also surviving 2 sons and a daughter, Kevin (Missy) Halliday, Craig (Tisha) Halliday and Katy (Christopher) Hummer; 4 step children, Terri Crowl, Ron Glass, Karen (Dan) Maxwell and Shirlene Harding; 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 11 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Halliday, sister, Margaret Halliday and a step son Karl D Glass
Services will be 2 PM Friday, February 28, 2025 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706. Calling is 2 hours prior to the service from 12 to 2 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials can be given in memory of Ian to Parkview Hospice.
