Jackie “Jack” O. Barnett, 83, of Garrett, IN passed away Sunday, March 10,2024 at home surrounded by family. J

ack was born in Hazard, KY to Bonnie and Vernon Barnett.

Jack married Linda Barnett and spent their lives together for 56 years. She survives and lives in Garrett.

Jack enjoyed golfing, reading old westerns, watching the Chicago Bears and Sunday football. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his dog, Lady.

He was an active member of the Garrett Eagles and loved spending mornings at the Eagles with his buddies.

Jack worked for Cooper Automotive in Auburn for 20/+ years before retiring.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Barnett; two sisters, Peggy Ashworth of Happy, KY and Sue Carol Butterworth of Boston, MA; a son(nephew) Michael (Mandy) Garrett of Middlebury, IN, and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was proceeded in death by his 5 brothers; Donald, Cecil, Doug, Dicky, and Danny, as well as his parents.

Memorials can be made to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter. Services will be 11 AM Friday March 15, 2024 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706.
