James H. Harnish, 82, passed away, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his residence in Butler.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1941, in Butler to Harold D. and Mildred L. (Allen) Harnish.
Jim was a graduate of Hamilton High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Jim was a pastor of the Ashley Church of Christ for five years. He also drove transport for DART Transportation through the Heimach Center in Auburn.
Jim was always ready to help anyone in need.
He was a member of Christ’s Church in Butler. He is survived by his wife, Linda Harnish. They were married on May 24, 2014.
Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Debra and Duane McCoy of Waterloo, and Cindy and Duane Rowe of Hudson; three stepsons, Richard and Cheri Campbell of Ellettsville, Daniel and Taylor Campbell of Kendallville, and Joseph and Rachel Campbell of Wawaka; three brothers, William “Bill” and Jean Harnish of Toledo, Ohio, and Edward Harnish of Marlboro, Ohio, and Harold “Danny” and Deb Harnish of Fayetteville, Arkansas; numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, David Campbell; sister, Shirley Greenfield; and a sister-in-law, LaWanda Harnish.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ’s Church, 116 U.S. 6, Butler, with Dale Rabineau officiating.
Burial will take place at Roselawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Joe Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Elijah Geeting-Campbell, Adam Zimmerman, Brenden Fulk, Duane McCoy, Michael Collins II, and Dustin Cupp.
Memorials may be directed to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with expenses.
