James Steckley Obituary

James L. Steckley, age 79, of Waterloo passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

Mr. Steckley was born on October 24, 1941 in Butler to Ernest and Gleny (Crooks) Steckley.

He married Sharon Woods on October 1, 1960 in Auburn.  She resides in Waterloo. 

Mr. Steckley worked for Electric Motors and Specialties in Garrett for many years.  He then worked for Pent Products in Hamilton for 13 years before retiring in 2000.  He was a member of the Butler Church of Christ.  He enjoyed remodeling homes and trailers.

Survivors include: 

His wife; Sharon Steckley of Waterloo.

Son; Jamie Steckley of Waterloo.

Daughter; Elizabeth Steckley of Troy, New York.

Daughter; Tammy Moore of Hamilton.

Daughter; Cindy Johnson of Fort Wayne.

5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. 

Brother and sister-in-law; Jack and Carol Steckley of Butler.

Brother and sister-in-law; John and Sharon Steckley of Auburn.

Sister; Judy Christlieb of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; Harry Steckley and 1 sister; Janet Foar.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Christian Union Cemetery, 4395 CR 7, Garrett, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be giving to the Steckley family to help with expenses.
