Janet K. Zimmerman, 56 of Butler, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 surrounded by her family at her Butler home.
She was born on August 28, 1969 in Hicksville, Ohio and she was a 1988 graduate of Hicksville High School.
Janet married Paul J. Zimmerman on May 20, 2000 in Montpelier, Ohio.
She was a homemaker and provided child care out of her Butler home for more than 20 years. Janet was a member of Christ’s Church in Butler and she also attended The Refuge Community Church at Butler. She loved going to church and taking part in Bible Studys and listening to worship music. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, coloring, playing card games and collecting Precious Moments figurines. Most of all, Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved cats and had many over the years.
Survivors include:
Her husband, Paul Zimmerman of Butler.
Son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mikayla Hartman of Garrett.
Daughter, Kristen Zimmerman of Butler.
Daughter, Katie Zimmerman of Butler.
Three grandchildren, Sylvia LuReign Hartman, Oliver Hartman and Ruth Ellison.
Brother, Dennis Hartman of Garrett.
Brother, Richard Hartman of Ohio.
Her twin brother, James and Amy Hartman of Butler.
Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Lewis Hartman; her mother, Sylvia LuReign Day and one sister, Tina Marie Hartman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Christ’s Church at Butler, 127 West Main Street in Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM immediately following the visitation with Dale Rabineau officiating.
Burial will take place at the Waterloo Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given in Janet’s memory to the Christ’s Church at Butler, 127 West Main Street, Butler, Indiana 46721.
