Auburn- Jerry Frank Bowman, 80 of Auburn went home to be with his Lord Tuesday October 28, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born January 21, 1945 in rural Garrett to Duane Bowman and Florede Pence (Bowman, Clark).
Jerry was a son, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed bicycling, music, TV especially old westerns, decorating for the holidays, dressing up for the holidays, the Dekalb County Free Fall Fair, gardening, helping people, Golden Memories Band, outdoor theatre, making bows and various wreaths .
Jerry spent a great deal of time with his nephew, Kip (Darlene) Baird and his niece, Star (Jeff) Noble during his retirement.
Jerry worked at Souder Hospital, Glen Oaks Nursing Home, Carlin Park Nursing Home, Dekalb Health Care, Fetzer’s Bakery, County Line Cheese, Auburn Printing and retired from Betz Nursing Home.
He is survived by one brother, Ronald (Cheryl) Clark of Auburn and one sister, Barbara (Marvin) Buttermore of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother and sister in law, Duane (Hazel) Bowman, brother, Donald Bowman, sister and brother in law, Shirley (Charles, Sr.) Baird, brothers, Buddy Marvin Bowman and Terry Bowman.
Jerry’s Celebration of life will take place at the Helmer Community Church, 7530 State Road 327, Hudson, IN 46747 on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM with lunch provided by the WinGS. The service will be immediately following at 2:00 pm at the church with a Christian burial at the Fairfield Cemetery. The family asks that any memorial gifts given in memory of Jerry be in care of Helmer Community Church, 7530 State Road 327, Hudson, IN 46747.
