JoAnn C. “Jo” Fair, 85, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at Millers Merry Manor in Garrett, Indiana.
She was born May 13, 1940, in Aurora, Illinois, to William “Bill” and Ann M. (Ambre) Sachen.
Jo married Allen D. Fair on Jan. 31, 1959, in Angola, Indiana, and he passed away on June 29, 2021.
Jo served as director at the DeKalb Pregnancy Center for 12 years.
She was a charter member of New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo, where she was an active member of her church. She took part in several of the church’s ministries, demonstrating her deep commitment to her faith.
Surviving are four children, Jim (Brenda) Fair, of Garrett, Jeff Fair, of Kernersville, North Carolina, Joe (Renee) Fair, of Auburn and Ann Kennedy, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; son-in-law, Larry (Carole) Miller, of Crossville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Ken Sachen, of Auburn, Ellen (Rick) Gonser, of Auburn and Stephanie (Jack) Wolfe, of Sugarhill, Georgia; and a sister-in-law, Shelia Sachen, of Harrison, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Fair; daughter, Cindy Miller; brother, Jerry Sachen; sister, Paula Davis; and a sister-in-law, Sue Sachen.
A memorial service will take place at noon on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at New Hope Christian Center, 900 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with the Rev. Ralph Diehl officiating.
A luncheon will be served immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Jo’s name to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
