Jon D. Hillabrand

Jon D. Hillabrand, 55, passed away on July 6, 2021.  He was born on Aug. 13, 1965. He was the son of Gary and Jeane Hillabrand of Auburn.  He married LeAnn Boyles on Dec. 2, 1995.  They were married for 25 years. He was the proud father of 4 children, Cory, Paul, Nicole and Weston. Jon’s mother Jeane, his brother Herb Hillabrand and his father-in-law, Darwin Boyles preceded him in death.  He is survived by his father, his wife and his 4 children, his sister-in-law Jeri Hillabrand and her children Chelsea and Alex Hillabrand. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Carolyn Brown & her husband Roc Brown, brothers-in-law Greg Boyles, Nate Boyles and Evan Brown (Rachel) and sisters-in-law Mandy Brown Stine (Jason) and Tess Brown. And 6 other nieces and nephews and many aunts & uncles.

Jon graduated from Garrett High School in 1984. He worked in many different capacities but one of his favorites was being self-employed with Classic City Expediting until health issues arose. Prior to his death he had been employed with Post Net in Auburn where he loved the interaction with their staff and all the customers.  Jon never met a stranger.

Jon had a gregarious personality.  He loved laughing, giving opinions, debating politics, and sports including the Bears, the Cubs and IU.  Jon was VERY family-oriented, he always made family and their traditions a priority. He had many friends and touched many lives.

Jon was passionate about being an organ donor.  He loved the thought of helping others.  He said, “a blind man would appreciate my eyes even though they aren’t perfect.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral Home.

Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.

Memorial donations may be giving in lieu of flowers and trees to the Hillabrand family to help with final expenses.  Checks may be made payable to Feller and Clark Funeral Home.
