Julia Finley Obituary

Julia Ann Finley, 66, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She is survived by her parents, Thomas Best and his wife, Nancy Best, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Barbara Babcock, of Auburn, Indiana.

She is also survived by her devoted husband, Jeffrey Finley; her daughters, Kristi Combs and husband Mike, of Marshall, Texas, and Michelle York and husband Joe, of Auburn, Indiana; her stepson Michael Finley; and stepdaughter, Shelby Finley; her sister, Sherri Voirol, of Auburn; Indiana; and her brother, Kevin Best, of South Carolina.

She was the proud grandmother of Sivanah, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Noah, Kandyce, Christian, Elijah, Gracie, Nathaniel, Octavia and Bren, who brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Noah Combs; and her faithful dog, Pixie.

She was a woman of deep Christian faith, whose joyful spirit and loving heart touched everyone who knew her. There is no doubt that her favorite role in life was being a MaiMau. She created beautiful, lasting memories with her grandchildren that they will cherish forever.

A talented and creative soul, she loved crafting of all kinds, from knitting and crocheting to cooking, baking and decorating cakes for special occasions. She especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews the skills she mastered, passing along her creativity with love.

Her warmth, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn. Pastor Tom Wilcoxson will be officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.
